Executive Pastor

The Senior Pastor of Spirit of Liberty Worship Center is Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Commander-in-Chief of our church and His work. He is “the head of the body, the church” (Colossians 1:18). The way we feed our bodies is through our mouths. Jesus does the same with His body, of which we are a part.

Senior Pastors

In 2007, God instructed Pastor Chris to step out on faith and start a church. Under the direction of his previous Pastors Keith & Carolyn Spellman Chris, along with his wife Charlene started Bible Study in their home. From the moment they begin praying and seeking the Lord on direction, God ordered every step of Chris and Charlene. The Cunninghams and a small group of followers hit the ground running! Spirit of Liberty Worship officially opened the doors of their first location in April 2009, and since then has become impactful in Charlotte and the surrounding areas. The Cunninghams are excited about all God’s doing in Charlotte, and they’re motivated to keep doing the work of the Kingdom.

Chris and Charlene have been married since 1998. They’re committed to each other and their two children: daughter Chasity and son Christian. Their passion is to see you live up to God’s fullest potential in you, and they’re committed to encouraging vision and purpose in every person they meet.
​
The two of them together are humbled that God would choose them to serve the Body of Christ. Their focus has been to build something for God together. For it has been through their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and total reliance upon His provision, that has established their footsteps as they walk continuously in the will of God for their lives.

Their focus is to serve the people of God with diligence, humility and most importantly in the Spirit of Christ.
​
The Vision that God has entrusted Pastors Chris and Charlene with is to “Build Strong Godly Families. ”Strong family units are important to God. Strong families produce strong churches.
​
They are determined and steadfast in winning souls for Jesus Christ and hold fast in knowing that there is nothing too hard for God.
​
The Cunninghams are covered by BOLD Church Inc. and mentored by Pastors Keith and Carolyn Spellman (Senior Pastors) of Charlotte, NC.
